You read that right; these are yummy chocolate chip muffins with a macro-friendly spin.

I've made protein muffins as both regular-sized and mini's. Both tasted delicious, but I've found the typical muffin size to come out more moist!

Ingredients needed:

-1 Chocolate chip muffin mix (any brand is fine)

-2 scoops of unflavored protein powder (I used Isopure)

-3 ripe bananas

-4oz Sugar-free apple sauce (substitute for oil in mix)

-2 eggs

-mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Peel and mash the ripe bananas in a bowl.

Step 3: Add in chocolate muffin mix; follow instructions on the back of the mix. Next, add protein and apple sauce. Stir to desired consistency.

Step 4: Spray muffin tins thoroughly. Divide the mixture evenly into muffin tins. Add the desired amount of mini chocolate chips on top.

Step 5: Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Step 6: Let cool and enjoy!

Muffins are safe to store in a tightly sealed container in a refrigerator for up to 7 days.
